In normal cases, a human eye is filled with fluid and this fluid flows through the tissue between the iris and cornea. When afflicted by glaucoma the fluid in the eye either flows out slowly or stops flowing at all and as a result pressure builds on the eyes between the production and drainage of fluid. In  the case of glaucoma the pressure to build up throughout the eye damages the blood vessels that feed the retina and the optic nerve.

In the initial stages you cannot see any symptoms of Glaucoma as one do not get any feeling of pain. There would also be no issues regarding the vision in the initial stages.  One of the best way to diagnose Glaucoma in the initial stage is to conduct a regular eye checking or examination.
